  1. Does the property management system reconcile? This lets you know whether you will still be doing manual reconciliation for rent payments or the system will automatically match the payment to the tenant or resident in real life.
  2. Does the property management system support M-pesa integrartion? This lets you know whether if a tenant pays for rent payment through your M-pesa paybill or buy goods and services whether it will recognize the payments in realtime, like Silqu does.
  3. Does the property management system support Bank Integration? There are new property management systems cropping up on the daily, but do they have bank grade security? Property management systems that do bank integration are proof that they are credible and also possess bank grade security
  4. Does the property management system track rent arrears? The function of a property management system is to be able to track not only rent collection, but also rent arrears. Otherwise, how would you know who has paid and who hasn’t in real time.

This prevents tenants from giving you a call whenever something is broken or following up on receipts because everything is consolidated in their own app for them.
